I am a contemporary Intermedia artist whose formative influences are those of suburban 1980’s Toronto, particularly the carpeted basement of a Downsview split-level house with a blue door; the untapped potential of Toronto’s extensive ravine network; and the parking lot accross from the house where my father lived for the last time before decamping to Niagra Falls accross the border. A redundant home bar partially stocked by random liquors and beverages adorned the edge of this nether land. A singular drum symbol remained in the same spot on the floor and behind the bottom of the stairs, the massive weight of an under-floor safe door remained always open and always empty.
